    When our friends Jerry and Karin Young sold their herd, we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase Sallay. This beautiful true black Lancaster daughter was exactly what we were looking for to add to our black herd. Sallay's black fleece is still extremely soft and dense at age 8, but at that age it's usually difficult to perceive character. It just so happened that Sallay's daughter Eye Candy was at the farm too. As they say......the proof is in the progeny. Eye Candy came home with us too. The fact that Sallay was bred to Black, Futurity Champion, Dark Star was just icing on the cake.

    On May 1st these two outstanding black alpacas presented Cassiopeia. Peia is a beautiful light fawn female who we have high hopes for. She has rock solid conformation and a fine, well organized fleece that looks very promising.

    As was the plan we bred Sallay to Captain Midnight. The TB male cria which resulted is beyond our expectations. Sallay is now rebred to our 5C's Captain Midnight. We can hardly wait to see this next cria.

    *****It is a well known fact that Karin Young is amazingly particular about her fleeces. I knew that if Karin still had this black girl on her farm, she was pleased with her fleece and her offspring. Not only is Sallay a beautiful alpaca, she is very sweet and easy to handle. Sallay quickly has become one of my favorite alpacas. Thank you Karin and Jerry for making it possible to add this wonderful female to our herd.

    Sallay quite literally has THE BEST TRUE BLACK huacaya fleece that we have ever seen! She is very bright, jet black in color & has the most beautiful silky, soft handle in a lovely crimped fleece. Her unbelieveable uniformity of primary & secondary fibers comes as no surprise, as every single off-spring that her dam has given us posseses the same fleece traits. Talk about lingering fineness!!     We knew Captain Midnight was special the minute he was born. We had no idea just HOW special. Captain currently has 18 banners in both halter and fleece. One of those banners is a coveted Judges Choice Fleece. At his very first show Captain was 1st and CC as the youngest entry in his yearling class. 5C's Captain Midnight won Champion and Res. Champion banners for his 2-year old and yearling fleeces at the 2015 AOA Fleece Conference!!!!     Captain Midnight is one of the Best of our Best. His dam, 5C's Chocotini is one of our highly coveted females. Her fleece is still amazing at 8 years old. She and LMFI Peruvian Black Midnight have shared their best attributes in producing this amazing male. We are extremely proud to have produced this male. His fleece exhibits extreme density, well-defined crimp and an incredible hand, characteristics usually found in only the lightest fleeces. You must get your hands on this fleece to believe it.

    Cassiopeia........light fawn from a black Lancaster daughter and Dark Star but ooooooohh how lovely. If you are searching for champion black genetics look no farther. This girl is the real deal...she is the daughter of our Sallay (black champion Lancaster daughter) and Andromeda's DarkStar (multi-champion black including The Futurity). Just look at that solid frame which was evident immediately. Although not the color we expected, she's stunning. The fleece is fine, bright and consistent with good structure.

    To top it all off, Piea is bred to 5C's Captain Midnight for her 2018 cria and due in August. Captain Midnight is an outstanding 18X Champion black male who has sired many outstanding crias in colors ranging from fawn to black, including grey. Don't miss this opportunity.
